No Charge Hurricane Threat Guarantee
Thursday, 25 August 2011
Hurricanes rarely come as far south as Costa Rica, being far outside of the paths these environmental disturbances take. You can now book and travel with peace of mind knowing that if your selected holiday destination in Costa Rica is threatened by a hurricane, you may select from any of the three options listed below. This protection from hurricane threat is effective immediately for departures to November 4, 2011.
• OPTION ONE - CHANGE DATE
You can change your date to commence travel on or before December 15, 2011. The hotel and room category must remain the same. If the change involves a higher holiday price, you will pay the higher amount between the original booking price and the revised booking price at the time of change. THERE IS NO REFUND IF THE COST IS LOWER.
• OPTION TWO - TRAVEL AS PLANNED
You may decide to travel as planned, if it is safe to do so. We want to ensure your vacation is a safe and enjoyable one.
• OPTION THREE - CANCEL WITH A FULL REFUND
Guests who elect not to travel may cancel and receive a full refund in the form of future Travel Vouchers. Travel Insurance and airfare costs if purchased, will not be included in the refund.
You may choose any one of the three options above if the U.S. National Hurricane Centre (NHC) declares a HURRICANE WARNING within 36 hours of your scheduled stay. In the unlikely even that you are already at your holiday destination and the National Hurricane Centre (NHC), in conjunction with the appropriate local Government, has determined that a hurricane has directly hit the area and you are evacuated from the destination, a credit in the form of a future travel voucher will be issued for any unused nights on the accommodation.
** Future travel vouchers are valid for one year after the date of issue, have no cash value and are non-refundable and non-transferable.**
